Call for Proposals -NADCP 24th Annual Training Conference featuring Vet Court Con- Deadline: October 2, 2017

Presentation Information  The National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) will host its 24th Annual Training Conference featuring Vet Court Con May 30-June 2, 2018 at the Houston Convention Center, in Houston, TX. The NADCP Annual Training Conference is the largest criminal justice training of its kind and welcomes over 5,000 attendees each year.  Justice for Vets (JFV) is a division of NADCP and JFV's Vet Court Con is the only national conference devoted to serving veterans living with behavioral health disorders.

NADCP seeks proposals that present best practices in service delivery, collaboration, and justice programming that enhance outcomes for participants in drug courts, veterans treatment courts, or other treatment courts. Proposals for workshops that present research findings, data analysis and highlight evidence-based practices are strongly encouraged.  While NADCP will accept and schedule sessions that cover a wide range of topics, we are especially interested in research-based presentations dealing with justice system reform, cultural diversity, community supervision, best practices, and long term recovery.

Selection Criteria The selection process is competitive. Workshop proposals will be selected based on their relevance to the field; their ability to address cross-functional policy/program areas; engaging format; interactive design; style, clarity, and originality; relevance to a national audience; and the subject matter expertise and training experience of the presenters.

  • Workshops may be 1.25 hours or 3 hours in length.
  • If selected, presenters agree to provide NADCP with preliminary electronic copy of handout materials for their workshop presentation(s) by Monday, February 26, 2018. All handouts will be submitted to the respective states for continuing education approval.
  • Presenters agree to provide NADCP with a final electronic copy of handout materials for their workshop presentation(s) by Monday, March 26, 2018. All handouts will be put online for attendees to access.
  • Presenters at NADCP conferences are expected to register for the conference and to pay for their own travel expenses. Speakers attending the entire conference receive a discounted registration fee of $300. Speakers only attending for the day of their session and speakers who are presenting two or more sessions have their registration fee waived. If proposing a panel format, a maximum of four (4) presenters is allowed.
  • NADCP may publish part or all of the proceedings of this conference. By presenting at the conference, you agree that NADCP has the right to include your presentation in a future publication and/or on its websites if NADCP decides to do so. You are not precluded from publishing your material elsewhere, nor is NADCP obligated to include it in any book, monograph, or other communication that may arise from this conference.
